Welcome to Tri-Bevel

Welcome to Tri-Bevel – the UK Association of Professional Piercers’ (UKAPP) online journal! The Tri-Bevel journal is part of a wider offering from the UKAPP’s Outreach Committee, which includes this online publication, and in the future will also be used for a revisit of the Piercer Meet-ups from the organisation’s early days.

The focus of this journal is primarily outreach: to bring the work of the UKAPP to the attention of more piercers, promote high standards of safety in the industry, and to help piercers to recognise the value of their work and skills. We also hope that some of our articles, such as ‘Becoming a Piercer,’ ‘Children’s Ear Piercing’ and ‘Breastfeeding and Piercing’ will be useful resources to pass on to clients and other members of the public. Beyond this, however, Tri-Bevel aims to build community. The UKAPP is a not-for-profit organisation, and (like the board) the Outreach Committee is volunteer-led. We firmly believe that collaboration is key when it comes to information sharing and we aim for this journal to provide an on-going conversation between the organisation and the wider piercing community.
